Recreating "old country" brewing conditions was a top consideration in the design of this building. This microbrewery houses brewing equipment purchased from a brewery in Germany.
The nature of the business required that the building design have an element of warmth and charm, yet it needed clean lines and easy maintenance considerations.
The walls consist of metal panels installed both vertically and horizontally. The Zactique finish (unpainted and "aged") on the metal panels presents varying shades of gray in an ever-changing illusion of shadow-play as one moves about while looking at the building and depending on the angle of the sun. The brewery building is situated in a rock-walled terraced garden setting where customers enjoy brew and food outdoors.
The brew house or tower portion of the structure, houses the brew kettle and "lauter tun" in the exact same relative positions as when the equipment was operated in its original German location. A hop storage and the brewing silo are outside.
